Attention system builders new to Intel® Upgrade Service

Why it’s good for you and your customer

Processor performance upgrades enable you (the system builder) to offer fewer hardware SKUs to your customers while providing them with multiple CPU performance opportunities. This enables a single system to have two separate performance options, giving your customer point of sale flexibility and new sell-up opportunities.

By making available an upgrade-ready system based on the Intel® Pentium® G6951 Processor, you will be opening up a new revenue opportunity for your customers. Intel Upgrade Service offers revenue shares to you and your customers when upgrades are sold. In addition, customers could also choose to add other third party software or hardware to those systems.

As a system builder under this limited pilot, you will be enabling a select group of your customers to have access to an exciting new technology.

What do you have to do?

If not already an Intel® Technology Provider Program Member, sign up now.
Intel Technology Provider Members request System Builder ID and customer login from Intel Upgrade Service.
Go to https://upgrades.intel.com and download the install tool for the system builder ID (from left hand navigation select "Customer Services" and "Downloads", then select "System Integrator ID tool"). After downloading, copy onto a bootable DOS USB drive.
Install your system builder ID that was provided in step #2 on each system following the simple instructions in the ReadMe file accompanying the SysIntID tool. This needs to be done on each system during assembly and takes a very short time.

Steps 1 - 3 need only to be done once at the beginning.

NOTE: You must install your system builder ID on the system during assembly for the system to be upgradable and for Intel to identify you for revenue shares and warranty! You will be eligible for a revenue share from Intel if/when your reseller customer installs an upgrade.
