Industry-academia interactions are essential in today’s emerging economy to help impart relevant knowledge which will remain sustainable in changing conditions.
Keeping this objective in mind, the Intel Higher Education team supported the sixth edition of the annual techno-management festival of
NIT Trichy -Pragyan
, held from the 25th - 28th of February, 2010 in the NIT Trichy campus).
The tech-fest is primarily focused on imbibing a scientific temper and a spirit of innovation among the youth. It brings together the brightest minds from across the country and abroad to exhibit their talents in the various engineering disciplines. To support this movement and provide encouragement to our youth, the Intel Higher Education team, arranged a technical lecture by Prasad Modali, Principal Engineer, from Intel India.
The lecture by Mr. Modali on “Bus architecture of Nehalem processor”. was very well received by the 130 engineering students who gathered to hear him. They also had an opportunity to interact with him after the lecture, on technologies and products related to Intel.
Prasad Modali personally interacted and provided guidance to a few research scholars who got an opportunity to showcase the work they are doing. He showed keen interest in the projects and motivated the researchers.
This endeavor from Intel Higher Education is cognizant with the efforts of Intel Initiatives, India, for encouraging mechanisms to foster industry and academia interaction.
