The first workshop was held on 26 April 2010 with 500 children to encourage science and maths learning; and motivate students to participate in research based projects so that they can showcase their efforts in Initiative for Research & Innovation in Science (IRIS) – a national science fair in collaboration with Department of Science and Technology (DST) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The workshop also encouraged the teachers to foster a spirit of enquiry based learning in the students. The teachers were trained on the need for creativity and innovation in education along with application of scientific methodology as being the key ingredients for success in today’s world.
