Intel® Teach Program is evaluated periodically and the findings are shared with all the stakeholders. Moreover, the results/findings are used to improve the program further.
An annual study is undertaken by an external research agency to study the impact of the program.
Research Objective for the Impact Survey
The key objectives of the study were to evaluate:
The implementation of the program amongst the school teachers / principals.
The impact of this program on their teaching methods and lesson preparation Impact on Student Learning.
Overall, 77% have used computer technology, which is higher in private schools at 90%.
88% have implemented any lesson plan at least once.
68% of the teachers work with their students in computer labs at-least once a week.
Computer technology continues to be used primarily for Computer Literacy & Computer Aided Teaching purposes.
‘Learning curriculum’ is the most important objective, & more so in public schools.
Most teachers are increasing their frequency of computer aided activity, like working with students to enhance computer skills & present information to students through the use of computers.
Majority of teachers implementing technology in new ways.
This has been continuously increasing in private schools in comparison to the public schools.
Participation continues to get driven by the quest to ‘increase the computer knowledge’ & ‘request from school’
Satisfaction continues to be high
Impact on students also continues to be high
Areas of concern / focus:
Need to push ‘frequency of technology related activities’ within teachers in public schools
Frequency of use of aids is stagnant in both private & public schools
Inadequate time & language (CD’s & websites being in English) continue to be the biggest challenge towards implementation of computer technology in both public & private schools…additionally in Public schools, Infrastructure & week student computer skills are other challenges.
Constraints towards non-implementation of computer technology have increased in magnitude within public schools.
