Project implemented during Mukhyamantri Shiksha Sambal Maha Abhiyan - GUPS Nimaaj, Pali

When there is the grit to succeed and the fire to achieve then all problems can be surmounted.

“Education is the way to a brighter future and we deserve a chance” Pooja a student of class VII, Adarsh Upper Primary School, spoke out confidently in a gathering of about 150 stakeholders-community members, educators and representatives of the government.

Under the guidance of Mr. Shaitan Singh, a Master Trainer, trained on the Intel Initiatives, the children of class VII, of Seth Meghraj Govt. Adarsh Upper Primary School, Nimaaj, Pali, implemented a very successful project on the need for education for all children. This project made the school very proud and their efforts towards creating awareness on education in the small hamlet of Nimaaj have been highly applauded.

Mr. Shaitan used his expertise to motivate the children to research scientifically, analyse and think critically and then communicate effectively using a multimedia presentation to create a more meaningful impact. The children collaboratively collected data on the number of students enrolled in school along with the total number of children in their town and then compiled facts on the importance of education through research on the internet. They printed posters, drew slogans and even planned a skit. The project has been very helpful in making the children develop hands- on skills for the real world.

The students were given complete support by the Principal of the school, Narayan Lal Prajapati. He also encouraged the students to showcase their presentation in front of the village community, plan a rally and even a door to door campaign, for creating awareness towards education.

Enthusiastically, the students put in their best efforts and the project assumed a larger role and became a campaign for literacy. The success of this was evident from the fact that the school managed 42 new admissions and 9 drop outs were brought back into school. Before the implementation of the project the school had enrolled only 20 students and 08 drop outs.

The project has had a long term effect on the children of class VII. They are pleased to have gained so much confidence especially in skills such as technology and public speaking.

They have developed communication and problem solving skills, along with an initiative for taking leadership to resolve community issues.

The Chief Guest on the specially organised showcasing event, Mr. Inder Singh Solanki, OSD REI, was very happy to see the students making presentations so confidently. He congratulated the school and the Intel team on such a wonderful achievement. “The way Intel has worked with the school in implementing the project and the way students presented it in a confident way was very pleasing. This program needs to be given momentum. The reach of the program needs to spread to other CALP schools as well. I extend my congratulation to Intel for the initiative.”
