2008 Asia Academic Forum

Dear Participant,

The 5th Asia Academic Forum will be held from October 20th to 22nd 2008 in Taiwan. We are pleased to welcome you to this most important forum with other elites including key Intel technical experts and top professors from selected Asian universities in China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam to exchange ideas on current technology trends and challenges.

2008 Asia Academic Forum is brought to you by the Intel® Higher Education Program, co-sponsored by National Taiwan University. With the theme, ”Powering the Future: Technology Innovation for a Better World”, we will strive to bring to you the latest information and valuable research on state-of-the-art technology and seek your opinions on the same.

The objectives of the forum are to:

  • Provide an update on Intel’s technology roadmap, business and research directions by Intel Fellows and Executives
  • Interaction and networking between Intel Fellows and key technologists, Intel Business Group top representatives and key faculties
  • Showcase good work of key faculties in curriculum development and research

The keynotes and deliberations during the identified three tracks are focused on:

  • Technology & Manufacturing
  • Systems and Architecture
  • Software for Multi-core

A vital feature of the forum's agenda is a series of sessions which combine networking topics and poster displays. These are two poster sessions featuring research and curriculum development undertaken by participating university professors. We encourage participants to visit the posters and to engage in discussions with Intel experts and fellow academic researchers.

The 2008 Asia Academic Forum has received overwhelming participations from Intel Fellows, Intel VP’s, Intel Director’s, Intel Principal Engineers, and Intel technologists from relevant Corporate and Asia business groups. We hope this event will provide you and your institute an opportunity to access the most advanced developments in these domains.

This year, an “Outstanding Research Award” session has been added to inspire and recognize research amongst one and all. Top research papers will be selected for the award by the forum attendees. More information will be announced during the forum.

We look forward to meeting you in what promises to be a most fruitful, stimulating and, at the same time an enjoyable event.
