The Intel® Teach Program engages both teachers and students in the development of 21st century skills and the integration of technology for teaching and learning. Teachers and students collaborate, analyse the quality of information, problem-solve, and communicate using online resources and technology tools.
The Essentials Online Course gives teachers the opportunity to develop a project-based, ICT-rich unit of instruction aligned to standards/syllabus outcomes with multiple forms of student assessment (formative and summative).
As teachers progress through this course, they collaborate with other teachers and discuss ideas for both introducing and using ICT in the classroom. Participating teachers develop a specific unit plan based upon material they are teaching. The goal is for each teacher to leave the course prepared to effectively implement a technology-rich Unit Portfolio that engages students in effective use of technology to achieve standards.
The Essentials Course consists of instruction delivered through 8 curricular modules and is a hybrid of face-to-face and online training.

The Intel Teach Essentials Online Course has been accredited by the NSW Institute of Teachers and is recognised for credit towards the Graduate Certificate in ICT Education at Charles Sturt University.
