Principal Leadership and Technology Forum (PLTF) - Geedam
Recognizing the important role administrators play in supporting teachers’ efforts, our training experience is developed with the aim to guide K-12 instructional leaders in their efforts to plan and implement technology integration and professional development in their schools, especially those schools that previously had participated in the teacher training program.

The Principal Leadership Technology Forum (PLTF) was organized at Village: Geedam, District: Dantewada on June 14 2011 at District Computer Center, District: Dantewada. Dr. H.R.Sharma, District Project Coordinator Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Mr. H.L.Sahu, Block Coordinator, SSA, Geedam and 25 enthusiastic Principals from various schools of South Bastar attended the technology forum.

PRINCIPAL LEADERSHIP AND TECHNOLOGY FORUM (PLTF)
 

Chief guest Dr. H.R.Sharma, District Project Coordinator, shared the current status of the education system in Dantewada and appreciated Intel’s effort in imparting technology aided learning programs in Chhattisgarh in Naxalite affected districts like Dantewada, Bastar, Kanker etc. He suggested that all principals opt for a TECHNOLOGY-AIDED learning methodology which helps make learning highly effective and useful for the 21st century learners. He welcomed the Intel team and also briefed the participants about the objective of the workshop.

PRINCIPAL LEADERSHIP AND TECHNOLOGY FORUM (PLTF)   
 

First half of the session focused on the 21st century learning environment; current trends in school learning; objectives of Intel Education programs and the role of Principals in helping teachers to integrate technology in their day to day teaching learning environment. Some sample projects undertaken by school students using technology and its effect and applicability in everyday life were also shared. A demo on Digital Help Guide was shown along with the demonstration on the Intel GSC and ESS course.



Principals were divided into two teams for a debate competition on new education trends. The second half of the day was utilized for a hands-on session. The participants found the workshop very useful and informative. The following are some of the comments from the principals of the various schools.
