Workshop on Principal Leadership and Technology Forum (PLTF) was conducted on 23rd June, 2011 at District Computer Center, Jagdalpur, Bastar, Chhattisgarh. 26 enthusiastic Headmasters/Principals from various Primary and Middle schools of Bastar attended the forum. The Workshop started with Seema, Senior Trainer giving the welcome note on behalf of Intel followed by participants introducing themselves. Mr. O.P.Ukey, Chief Executive Officer, Jila Parishad, Bastar was invited to say few words to encourage participants and share some ideas.

Mr. O.P.Ukey, CEO, Jila Parishad, Shared various education scheme running in Bastar District, as per his observation in various states he shared his experiences on education system and policies. He also instructed all the Headmasters/Principals to implement TECHNOLOGY-AIDED learning Methodology at their respective schools and at last He welcomed the Intel team to start workshop.

In first half of the workshop, presentation on ICT in the classroom was shown to the participants and they were made aware about 21st century learning environment, benefits of technology in the classroom, current trend of education in Chhattisgarh, Role and responsibility of Principals in helping teachers to integrate Technology in there day to day teaching learning environment. A demonstration was given on some sample selected projects collected by MTs in our previous trainings and its effect and applicability in the classroom. A demonstration on Digital help guide was also given.

This workshop was highly communicating and participants shared their opinion and concerns with each other. Participants also shared their views on current scenario of education in Bastar.

The second half was completely a hands-on session, where the participants were given a feel of the advantages of using technology in Teaching-learning process. The workshop was conducted with the objective of guiding the Headmasters to the right approach Technology Aided Learning and benefits of technology in the class room.

The workshop provided a common platform to the participants where they not only shared their experiences but also realized the importance of technology in today’s education environment. The participants found the workshop very enlightening and informative as it was evident from their enthusiasm to nominate teachers from their school to attend the forthcoming Intel Teach Program Training session.
