Pre-service
Overview

Intel has worked with the Ministry of Education’s teacher training institutions and university teacher training faculties to integrate the Intel® Teach curriculum into pre-service teacher training. In 2002, the Ministry of Education’s Teacher Education Division began to incorporate Intel® Teach into their pre-service teacher training program.

The Intel® Teach curriculum augments the teacher training syllabus related to project-based approaches, technology integration and resource management subjects or programs for pre-service teachers. Intel has collaborated with the Teacher Education Division (BPG) to localize the module to Malaysia’s requirements and deploy the course through train-the-trainer model at teacher education institutions.

The introduction of this program into the pre-service environment since the year 2000 is seen as an important step in ensuring continuous upgrading of skills in the teaching profession and in fulfilling the government’s vision and policy of human capital development. About 40,000 pre-service teachers, in 27 teacher training institution campuses nationwide, have taken part in the Intel Teach training program conducted by their Intel® Teach Program Master Facilitators or Senior Trainers since the year 2000.
