  • Lab Opening Ceremony of Intel China Research Center

[2004-10-15 Friday] Lab Opening Ceremony of Intel China Research Center was indeed a labs opening day. Over 100 guests from government, academia, industry and media attended the event. Four senior leaders of Intel R&D gave the keynotes speeches and hosted the media interview. In the afternoon, two Intel senior fellows hosted the open forums on wireless and computing technology with professors from universities and research institutes. The labs opened with the demos across system technology, microprocessor technology and communication technology.

  • Intel Student Research Contest Judging Process and Award Ceremony in Raycom

[2004-10-14 Thursday] The final judging process and award ceremony of Intel Student Research Contest was held in Raycom, where ICRC located. 18 students from 10 different universities competed for the coveted prizes. The judging process ended up awarding a first, a second, two third, and five honorable mention awards. Two Intel senior fellows Justin Ratter and Kevin Kahn chaired the judging process, and the Intel CTO Pat Galsinger hosted the open forum with students on award ceremony.

The Intel Student Research Contest was launched in Oct. 2003. 10 top universities in China were invited to the contest, and 18 finalists were identified by their research proposal in December, 2004. The objective of the contest is to stimulate inventiveness by challenging students in the sciences and engineering disciplines to explore frontiers of future computing, and to encourage students of independent research, and creative thinking.

  • Intel Senior Fellows Visited Universities in Hefei and Chengdu

[2004-10-13 Wednesday] Two Intel Senior Fellows, Justin Rattner and Kevin Kahn visited University of Science and Technology of China, and University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, on Oct 11 and Oct 13 respectively. The university visits were the important part of their China trip in this autumn. They delivered technical lectures to the students to introduce Intel’s Platform Innovation and wireless research.

  • Intel PlanetLab Researcher Visited Tsinghua University

[2004-09-16 Thursday] Rob Knauerhase, a researcher in Planetlab research team from Oregon visited Tsinghua University at early of this week. Mr. Knauerhase has delivered a series of talk in CERNET center about PlanetLab project, which is laying the groundwork for the evolution of the next-generation Internet with an improved, more secure architecture.

  • Dr. Yibin Ye Visited Micro-Electronics Institutes in Top Universities

[2004-09-10 Friday] Dr. Yibin Ye from Microprocessor Technology Labs in Oregon visited Micro-electronics Institutes in Beijing University and Fudan University on September 9th and 10th respectively. Dr. Ye has met with the faculty members and graduate students, and gave technical lectures on 'Statistical Timing Analysis and Design Techniques'.
