Virtustream Migrates Florida Crystals SAP to the Cloud
With teamwork and homework, Virtustream helped sugar producer Florida Crystals take its series of SAP systems from a completely physical environment to the cloud in 80 days. Some of the accomplishments of this migration were:
• Added disaster recovery capabilities, including one-hour failover of business operations.
• Increased SAP performance by an average of 30 percent, while saving 34 percent on compute costs and 47 percent on storage and backup costs.
• Increased business agility by deploying applications in hours rather than weeks.
The IT team used Virtustream Advisor*, a data-gathering and analysis framework, to guide a detailed discovery process. To accomplish the migration, Florida Crystals’ SAP systems had to be virtualized for the first time to transfer production to a cloud environment at Virtustream, an SAP-certified cloud provider that specializes in enterprise customers and uses Intel® technologies throughout its data centers.
