Intel® Global Challenge
Founded in 2005 as a collaborative effort between Intel and UC Berkeley, the Intel Global Challenge (IGC) is the world’s largest and most prestigious technology entrepreneurship competition.
More than 20,000 young innovators and entrepreneurs from 60 countries applied for IGC 2014. The final teams represent la crème de la crème, having won local and regional competitions to qualify for the culminating event, held each year in Silicon Valley. Here, finalists present their work to experienced entrepreneurs and venture capitalists, as they vie for USD 100,000 in prizes.
The winners of the competition are those judged to have the most potential to make a positive impact on society.
Among this year’s break-through technologies: a platform that allows an individual to share time and expertise in exchange for someone else’s time and expertise, sensors that promote sustainable agricultural practices, and wearables that enable users to control other devices via thought.
Ready. Set. Launch.
