Intel ISEF Educator Academy
Exploring innovative ways to engage students in science and math
Connecting Science and Math Educators
In conjunction with the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, a program of Society for Science & the Public, the Intel ISEF Educator Academy brings together a select group of educators and government officials from Intel sites around the world to explore proven, innovative methods of engaging students in the study of science and math.
During the five-day Intel ISEF Educator Academy, outstanding educators present workshops on student research, project-based learning and other proven ways to engage students in the study of science and mathematics.
Also, experienced science fair organizers share resources and provide participants with valuable information about managing, organizing, and preparing students for science fairs.
Attending the Intel ISEF Educator Academy enables participants to build a global network with:
- Ministry of education officials
- Science fair officials
- Officials from universities, academies, and professional organizations
- Teachers experienced with student-centered learning
- Science coordinators and instructional and curriculum specialists
- Mentors for student researchers
Action Plans detail what each team plans to achieve at home based on their learnings from the academy. Plans include goals and objectives as well as actions needed to achieve their goals, including measurable outcomes and assigned responsibilities.
The team from Vietnam developed an Action Plan focused on expanding the MOE’s efforts to use science competitions as a way to change the culture of teaching and learning in Vietnam.
Uganda is starting a country-wide science program. The Action Plan focuses on strengthening the partnership and networks between Ministry of Education and other stakeholders.
