The Intel® Health Guide Telehealth Possibilities
Fulfilling the promise of telehealth
Studies show that telehealth solutions can provide real, measurable benefits for chronic patients and their clinical teams, as well as for the healthcare organisations that face the ever-increasing challenges of chronic care. Telehealth can help:
- Reduce hospitalisation and readmission rates.Telehealth solutions can enable clinical staff to identify changes in patients’ health before conditions become acute.¹
- Increase patient compliance with disease management programs. Telehealth solutions can increase compliance, which may lead to improved patient outcomes.²
- Offer cost-effective extended care to more patients. By enabling clinicians to monitor patients without in-person visits, telehealth solutions can allow them to extend care to more patients, maintain consistent and frequent contact with them, and provide timely interventions.³

These are some of many studies that have been published on the use of telehealth technologies for chronic care management. Other published studies have used a variety of different technologies and may have different results.
