If none of the other methods are successful, you can identify the Intel® graphics controller found in your computer by looking at the motherboard or video card for the graphics controller markings.

Heatsinks
Some Intel chipset components and graphics controllers might have heatsinks attached to them. Intel strongly recommends that you do not try to remove any heatsink or any other device attached to a chipset in order to view the chipset markings. Only trained and qualified professionals should remove the heatsink from Intel chipsets. If an Intel chipset has a heatsink, we recommend using the Intel® Chipset Identification Utility to identify the Intel chipset components.

To identify your graphics controller using the markings, first locate the 15-pin VGA port on the back on the system and see if it is attached to the motherboard or to a separate video card.

VGA port is built-in to the motherboard
The system might have an integrated graphics controller or a discrete graphics controller (video down). Follow these steps to find the graphics controller:

1. Use the Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility-Photo Examples to identify the chipset markings.
2. Once you know what chipset the system has, see Using the chipset name to determine the Graphics Controller to find out if the chipset has an integrated graphics controller.
3. If the chipset identified has an integrated graphics controller, then it is likely the system graphics controller. If the chipset identified does not have an integrated graphics controller, the system likely has a non-Intel graphics controller (video down). There should be a chip on the motherboard that is the graphics controller. The markings on the chip indicate the graphics controller manufacturer.

VGA port is attached to a separate (PCI or AGP) video card
The card or graphics controller chip on the card shows markings to indicate the video card manufacturer.
