Tested memory
Memory testing is completed under the following category:
Advanced tested memory*
Intel sent the advanced environmental test procedures, test software, and required hardware to an independent test lab to complete advanced testing as requested by the memory vendors. Memory is tested by Computer Memory Test Labs (CMTL)*.
Intel internal tested memory Intel's has a limited amount of memory tested for the desktop board. These part numbers might not be readily available throughout the product life cycle.
System memory features
The Intel® desktop board D845GRG contains the following memory features:
- Two DIMM sockets supporting 2.5V (only) 184-pin 200/266 MHz Double Data Rate (DDR) SDRAM DIMMs with gold-plated contacts
- Unbuffered non-ECC DIMMs only
- Maximum total system memory: 2 GB; minimum total system memory: 64 MB
- Serial Presence Detect (SPD) DIMMs only
- Suspend to RAM
| Caution |
Do not use ECC DIMMs with the Intel Desktop Board D845GRG as they could damage the desktop board.
Integrator Notes:
- Registered DIMMs are not supported on the Intel Desktop Board D845GRG.
- Remove the AGP video card before installing or upgrading memory to avoid interference with the memory retention mechanism.
- This board was designed to support DIMMs based on 512 Mbit technology for a maximum onboard capacity of up to 2 GB. This technology is not validated on this board.
| Note |
To be fully compliant with all applicable DDR SDRAM and PCI33 SDRAM memory specifications, the board should have DIMMs supporting the Serial Presence Detect (SPD) data structure. This structure allows the BIOS to read the SPD data and program the chipset to accurately configure memory settings for optimum performance.
